If 'plate tectonics' is the lead architect of the Earth's surface, then magma is certainly the chief engineer. Magma, a near surface molten rock generated by the lithosphere's colliding plates, shapes our world. A wondrous force of creation, many islands of the sea were birthed by its colossal thrust, thrusting up submerged plains of rock above the level of the sea, and finally spewing forth billions of tons of lava (lava is magma which has exited a volcano or vent). Hawaii, for example, is happy result of these natural forces. There is a new magma-borne island currently forming off the coast of Japan. Surtsey Isle was formed off the coast of Iceland in the mid-60s and is now a verdant green emerald of the sea. Magmatics Inc focuses on the wealth of industrial uses provided by magmatic offspring, e.g., pumice, perlite, volcanic ash, tuff, tephra, ignimbrite, zeolites, feldspars, kaolinites, etc. Some of the benefits of these materials have only recently been discovered and in some cases 'redicovered'. We can help you develop magmatic derived products and show you how they can help solve some of our planets most pressing challenges.
